Hi Guys.
Just bought a Z1 from new and after a bit of fiddling, managed to get it running and set up fine. Made a few adjustments to the needle height etc etc and she runs lovely through all rev range. Mixture now seems spot on.
The problem I'm having is that the engine seems like it floods after the bike has been standing. I try to start it, but the plug seems to get too wet, which means I have to take it out and dry it off all the time.
I've checked the float height and float valve but all seems ok, unless ofcourse the float valve is sticking intermittently.
The plug that was in the bike from new is an NGK B8ES. Can anyone tell me if this is the correct one, or maybe I should change it? (Seems like if it even gets slightly wet, then she just don't wanna go)
I was wondering if I could replace it for a different make or a hotter plug, to prevent oiling, or maybe even a "Rimfire" plug such as I have in my outboard boat engine, as outboards are prone to oil up at low revs, these special plugs prevent this. (Don't wanna blow holes in pistons though)
If anyone has had any experience similar to me then I'd be grateful if you let me know.
Cheers

PS: Hopefully be down Carew this Sunday afternoon!

Hi fella,

Try mixin a bit of petrol in wif ur oil - hahhahahhaha.

Have u checked ur throttle slide is in the right way - cut off to the air filter side.
Also make sure the plastic holder for the needle is in the right way - needle should be pined down tight - once i sorted the above mine was fine - slow running jet to 1 turn &1/4 and shes fine.

Only other way is to do a plug chop at full tilt to see the burn on the plug - me thinks main jet is on the big side - on mine neway.

Strange why yours is constantly doin this tho !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
