8/68 last time at whilton, 8/70 should be ok for super at Llandow, i used 8/70-72 last time at Llandow on the 4.2, but had engine trouble lack ov power due to woody key sheering and the timing altering, so unsure about that, still playing with the gearing on the 4.2, proddy dunno will just stick 1 on and see lol

i have 1 or 2 spare 2 shoe clutches built up, i try not to use them due to me gearth lol...

BRAD #3- 02-04-2008

Cheers I'll try 7/70 and see how it goes. Not sure I have an 8 or if the bike will pull it.
Darren your 4.2 must be well quick. You won't know where you are riding three bikes1
I don't think I was holding top revs too long at Whilton on 7/68. No idea what it revs to, but was definately better after messing with the jet. Gone down one more again as the exhaust is leaking gunk everywhere.
Hope there are a few aircooleds there to try and stay with (wishful thinking). Scotty

saunders57- 02-04-2008
what do you mean 'aircooled' scotty cos i will hopefully be there on my elite, what bike do you have now ?

speedy1- 02-04-2008
meaning he has a new bzm powered 6.2hp aircooled which has been made legal in the british not to long ago, fast if you get it set up nice mmcwales/smilie_c_32.gif

Jazz_11- 02-04-2008
yh its also knon as the 620,,, what class will that be in the british???

scotty4321- 02-04-2008
Lee. think elites race in the same class so may have some fun if you're going.
I think it would be aircooled B for me (over 75KG fat boys).
Its a 3 tranfer port 40cc although they do a 5T as well in 40 and 50. Someone said a 5t (allowed in the southerns , but not british?) wouldn't make much difference though with a 14mm carb which must be used. It's probably 7/8BHP something like that with a proddy pipe on. Most people use a 4.2 polini engine with a pipe, double reed mod and crank to make the same power. Think series 2 polini watercooled bottom end/4.2 top end engines are allowed in the southerns but not the british.
I'm sure there are people racing elites as well as they must be 7hp+.
There is a guy on the other forum building a 5t 50 aircooled super. If he can stop that thing overheating it would make a very quick light bike. Scotty

Hi scotty.
I had a look today and the 4.2 was running 7/68 the time before at Llandow, then when it was underpowered at llandow last time i geared down to 7/71, fitted a new woody key and it was to slow down the long straight, before i had a chance to change it again, the woody key half sheered again and the piston let go, so will have to try it again Sunday lol.
"7/68, main jet 79 as a starter, junior r front/t41 rear"

Im just giving the proddy a quick run make sure its running ok, new mains, piston, ring, seals, carbon reeds, gaskets and clutch. squish at .55 should be ok with the stiffer carbon reeds, was 80 main jet init but had big gunk and boggy, so its on 78 now will try that as a starter.
"8/72, main jet 78, cut chinky front/t41 rear"

Can't wait to try the Super! mmcwales/p_chewingum.gif mmcwales/biker.gif
"8/70, main jet 96, junior r front/t41 rear"

should be a good few there for you to play with mukka, will try keep up on me 4.2 if not mmcwales/p_wink.gif , need half farings tho as i grind me boots to death, there again be like an ironing bored again, won't even be able to get me knees down lol.

Take it easy peeps

James, Crash? mmcwales/p_thinking.gif Havnt heard these words come together before mmcwales/smilie_n_32.gif mmcwales/smilie_c_32.gif

Can't wait, just hope I can sleep Sat night. Didn't get a wink last time.
James, take it easy on the hand mate, proddy has got to be fast enough and its much cheaper to crash your own, plus it needs running in.
I'm sticking with the utility V rubber inters, unless its soaking and I can try wets for the first time (hope not). At the moment you could probably do half the track with no engine with the wind we've had. Just sorted out a loan tonight to get me out of trouble for buying minimotos and parts. I'm well skint now. When does it all end!!
Want to speed up but not to bend anything too bad. Gotta stay off the brakes a bit more, especially into the end of the car park straight before the left/right flop and the bumpy bend in the far corner (I don't know their proper names). Darren I may be able to stay with you on a 4.2 but wouldn't bet on it. sounds like the gearing isn't miles away then, it should rev a bit higher with a proddy pipe on than a 4.2.

Cheers Scotty

Sleep Sat no chance i never can lol wait untill u get into the british no sleep all week then lol and the days take so long to go lol.

spending don't end mukka, but it does ease after a while, and it all ends when your on the grid ready to roll, then its throw caution to the wind mukka, they dont stay mint for long "do they JAMES haha" if you want to go faster, take it to next meeting grab it by both hands and throw it into the gravel, only once you got scratches on it will you give it hell.

when i painted my redbull, i rode like a sissy, untill TITCH crashed it, and then i crashed alot but went faster lol.

yea 4.2 peak power at 11,000, yours should rev alot more than that mukka, its all testing, not rode the 4.2 at Llandow realy, so its going to be fun.

scotty4321- 02-06-2008
It will probably take a dive from four feet when it falls off the stupid stand I've been making, that'll sort it out. It isn't mint by any means but haven't had it long so don't want to trash it straight away! Probably cover it in crash bungs should be OK then, although I saw a video of Hully where this guys bike somersaulted at the end of the straight like on motoGP, must have been totally trashed.
If I don't sleep I may as well be there early! Anyone lend me a tacho for five to see what it does? Have a velcroed tank Cheers Scotty
