Hi all once again we all leave upset again
Dont know why Llandow so special but every time i go there i leave in a bad mood
wounder why ? When Mrboo and myself spoke to paul in the morning we were told that we had the track to ourself in the morning which we did have and after lunch we would have arive and drive in with us one session in the hour paul told us.
So when mrboo asked the only reply was you getting 20 min session whats the problem when we told him what Paul had said he said the same reply saying to me i dont give a dam(well no suprise there) and then when there was a bit of a crash onh the track it seemed all hell broke loose. One of the mothers asked Lynn for a wet whipe lynn started going on about protocall and the rider should not of been moved and that might be the case but as we have never been told about your protocall. Now even though it was his brother that moved him to the track side Debbie and her Family was asked to leave the track now i know that debbie did swear at lynn but lets be honnest the way lynn talks to us all well all been there.
so we asked for you to be called which did not happen as far as i can see then lynn comes out the office and starts round 2 by standing next to the track smoking a fag and when a rider comes off she cant even be bothered to pick up a flag to warn others where it all kicks off again. Now Paul i know you have worked hard to help us out we do know that you on our side but when we got to put up with that NO WAY i spoke to you about a winter champtionship there but after that the feeling in the pits is it would be a waste of time as Llandow is the only track in the country we get treated this was and as we can drive to whilton mill and ALLWAYS leave HAPPY seems silly not to go there to me

Greg #12- 10-15-2007
Its the same here Ty, and funnily enough, the crash that Lynn refused to put the flag out and said to my mother after she told her that I have crashed 'Don't tell me how to do my job' and still didn't put the flag out, I broke my wrist and was left with no marshall help and had to pick the bike up on my own, start it and get back to the pits... and thats really hard with a broken wrist, let me tell you

Overall, extremely dissapointed with what good of been a fantasic day mmcwales/smilie_h_32.gif

meecham- 10-15-2007
agree with all mornin was pretty good but then the afternon went down hill
ohmy.gif broke ure wrist ouch!!
and smoking on the track just askin for sum1 to say omething that was just the cherry on top i thik

goodfellowracer- 10-15-2007
yer mornin went perfectly well thanx agen..
but to see someone smoking on the track and no assistance when someone is down is rubbish

speedy1- 10-15-2007
I'll have to agree, great tracktime, great track. But was very dissapointed by the lask of assistance provided by the marshals. Both young boys went down resulting in a bad crash, yet all the help that was given by a family member, and spectators/family (who ran from the other end of the track to help).

Roughly 25-30 riders showed up, they witnessed the insident not a good reputation that we trying to build up for the track after the arguments lack of support through the accidents. mmcwales/p_sad.gif

Understand llandow have a protocall about not interfiering with a accident. But one of the serious accidents off the day two very young lads crashing not getting up, yet all that was done by the marshal was stand and watch, waving a warning flag..Crazy, no medical assistance provided either.

thats my opinion,

Greg #12- 10-15-2007
Hi I'm new to MMCW Forum, but most of you will know me as mum to Greg and Scott. ( This post is intended to ensue Paul is aware of what is going on in his absence at the Llandow circuit).
I have travelled the length and breadth of the UK attending many racing venues over the past 3 years, supporting my sons and their fellow racers. Never before have I had reason to complain, quite the contrary, I have found every circuit/event has been well organised with professional staff, excellent marshalls and first aid facilities....Well, that is until now!!!!!.
Putting aside ( but certainly NOT dismissing) the oh so obvious discrimination displayed by certain Llandow officials towards any 2 wheeled rider( be they 6years or 46 years!), which lets face it, has gone for so long now it's getting rather tedious.(This, by the way, being the reason I have not allowed my sons to attend any track days at Llandow for some considerable time, only giving in this time, as a one off as last British Round there in 2weeks).
I found myself yesterday being absolutely mortified by a catalogue of events that took place.
A young lad had a high speed crash on his 70cc Metrakit GP bike.....as everyone is aware these bikes are a far cry from a minimoto.......he lay on the track injured. There were no warning flags shown to other riders and no marshalls attended him he was most definately at risk of further injury. Fortunately, his elder brother was out on track riding and managed to get to him and move him to safety.

As his Dad brought him back to the paddock I noticed him limping,on further inspection I saw a hole in his leathers and a nasty gash on his knee which was bleeding and full of dirt. I approached a female official at the office to ask if I could have an antiseptic wipe to clean the wound, who's immediate and extremely curt response was "who is it for?" ! I replied "the little lad who just crashed".......to which she responded, quite unbelievably, we are refusing to treat the rider concerned as someone on track broke protocol"!!!!!!! This was a little boy who was in pain and in tears, and ALL I had asked for was an antiseptic wipe to clean the wound......I hadn't asked for any of them to treat him !!!

I had to be subjected to a lengthy lecture on how "any injured rider must remain in situe until such time as a marshall declares him fit to be moved from the track ", when I asked the very obvious questions " so WHERE was the marshall responsible for attending to him and WHY were no warning flags shown?" The reply was "what is your name and what is the injured rider's name?....on realising that Luke was not my son, she then demanded I give her my own sons name. . As I turned to leave the office, visibly upset, to attend to little luke with the wipe I had to practically plead to get ,I remarked that after today I would never again attend Llandow unless it was for a privately hired event with professional trackside officials. Needing, rather desperately it seemed, to have the last word she called me back and informed me that none of us would be able to attend Llandow under any circumstances.....I did not reply, and as I walked out she followed me chirping " actually I'd prefer it if you all leave right now". I'm afraid this was just the last straw, I told her to p-ss off I had paid for another 3 hrs of track time.
As I knelt down to attend to Luke with his dad, the official concerned appeared by my side, and without showing any concern for the little boy's welfare demanded to know who his legal guardian was. She then immediately, and without allowing him to finish tending to his son frogmarched him into the office.
Believe me Paul, there were many witnesses in the paddock who could not believe what they were seeing!! It was at this point several riders began requesting that you be contacted immediately to which they were told catagorically NO CHANCE.

After making sure Luke was ok, I returned to pit wall to check on my boys. As Ty has said, a few minuites into this second session of the afternoon Lynn ( if that is her name ?) comes sauntering out of the office and onto the track. she takes position at trackside beside start/finish line marsahall point. What beggars belief is that she is NOT only in stilluetto highs which sink into the grass causing her to edge futher onto edge of track and solid ground, BUT.... SHE IS HOLDING A LIT CIGARETTE !!!!!! Just inches away from motorcycles racing at top speed around the track!!!!!

I'll bet you are thinking it could't get much worse ????? But hey, guess what the worst is yet to come!!!
At the end of that session she trotts off back to the office while the Karts go out., only to return onto the track at approx 5.45 to 5.50 in the same unprofessional manner....lit cigarette etc..... Just can't wait now to get my boys off this circuit....only a few more minuites I thought......when all of a sudden i hear someone shout that my son has crashed at far end of circuit....looking to the 2 marsahalls in front of me (lynn? and one on the hairpin ( paddock bend).... still no flags!!! Surely they've heard everyone shouting to them about the crash...but no, Lynn (still not sure if that is her name ) is still puffing away on her cig and the other one looking the other way. I run towards Lynn and shout my son has crashed warn the riders where are the flags?
To my utter dismay, rather than act swiftly to avoid any further injury to my son or other riders, she walks casually over to me and says "don't tell me how to do my job I've asked you to leave once...now I'm telling you to get off my premises immediately". Meanwhile my son is still injured on track and no officials are prepared to go to his aid. No attempt is made to slow down or stop other riders , and fearful that he will not be given any vital first aid if any of us try to help him ( remember the earlier incident and the protocol speach!!!!) I plead with her to help, she refuses.
My husband (Neil) had legged it up to end of paddock to see Greg struggling, and obviously injured, to move his big Metrakit 70 off the track in order to avoid further casualties.
Greg was not attended by any marshalls while he lay injured (one was deliberately being spiteful...I think you all know which one that was!!!!) and the others well' it's suffice to say "what others? " there was a distinct lack of them!! ... Our own video footage of the days racing CLEARLY shows almost every marshall point unmanned while large numbers of riders were on track( along with very damning footage of the aforesaid smoking official!!!) although we followed "protocol" my son was still not offered any first aid on track. We took him straight to A&E where it was confirmed he had broken his wrist.
I am sorry to go into such detail but I feel very strongly about this.... on no other track in the country would this have happened. WHY has it happened at Llandow???
I have taken legal advice on steps to take this further as this is quite clearly of interest to the Health and Safety Executive.
Before I take this any further..I am giving Paul the oppurtunity to contact me with a view to resolving the issues I have raised , I understand from other riders dealings with him that he will be as shocked as I am over the situation.

Thanks to everyone who gave us their support yesterday, and to all those of you who witnessed the events and have offered backing to take this further.

Debbie

martyn- 10-15-2007
guys, been watchin the llandow thread for ages - dont bother their a waste of space.I havent been out this year but beleive me they should take a leaf out of mangles book.

waste of space - in it for the money and nothing else. done the british champiionship long and short circuit kart championships and it aint even a kart track - just local

Pablo - wake up

declan- 10-15-2007
i actually read all of what greg and scotts mum said and very dissapointed, so i dont think lynn is very popular, and shud leave her job cause that is not even her premisis llandow is a rented land from the farmer not that c o w.

pablo i think we are all waitin for you to say somthing here.

martyn- 10-15-2007
RAC kart regs in this instance wudda closed them down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope u do take it further - my son is gonna start next year and i certainly wont visit llandow.

Maybe the offer will be book six months in advance for a great time.

Disgraceful, especially where young kids are involved- u wouldnt expect that in a pub after midnight.

Jazz_11- 10-15-2007
i wasnt there yesterday but from what i read i am glad i didnt go as i think there is a problem with the marshalls at llandow... they do their best to get us on the track like letting the day go ahead with only 13 pre payed riders i think that is perfect but then they mess up with the marshalling..
dont know if i will be there again as if it happens once it is going to happen again as usual....
shame cuz its a good track....

Hope you will be back riding soon Greg and hope it wasn't your writing hand ;-). Well im glad i couldnt come down due to my own injuries which stopped my dad and bro coming down i believe.

I cant believe what greg's mum has said that is shocking from llandow, absolutely unbelivable and sorry pablo but you said you wanted our support for pre-booking but to be honest it has to go both ways. (That is why carew and mangle get full support from us.) If a kid has fallen off on a track and doesn't move you see red/black flags to alert the riders it is not safe something has happened.

So the people involved at llandow really need to get their acts together. Lets be honest greg was brave to pick the bike up i would of laid there on the track or the grass. If the injury was any worse say he broke his leg and couldnt move? What would llandow do then?

Ive gone into a bit of an essay now but i am just absolutely shocked

Pr][nCe- 10-15-2007
Had this convo about llandow staff before, oh and i think it was her. no point in talking to them, but can u get to speak to ie Paul when u need to or anyone other than just staff? NO no and no.

Sry to hear about the Wrist Greg mmcwales/p_plaster.gif
Bang on there Debbie... Bang on with that discription of the days events.
