Hi, Hoping someone can offer some advice.
After bending the first set of polini flywheel starter Pawls (I think thats what they are called, the metal bits bolted to the fly wheel face that grab the starter cog)) I was advised to fit some tougher BZM items, only to find out that the first time the bike was used one destrudted itself and made a bit of a mess on the fly wheel flat face. The circumference and coil pick up etc is fine.
I thought when putting the pawls on that there was too large a shoulder on the new bolts but that they would be OK. I have ordered another set and was told to beld them slightly so that they are tight to the flywheel face and to use the Polini bolts.
Anyone else had similar trouble. Is it OK to use washers with the BZM bolts to pack out the slack? Is it best to avoid putting grease on the pawls and is there any need to loctite the bolts. Dont fancy completely ruining the flywheel.

all you can do mukka is make sure the black disc is in good condition, dont use it if its nearenough smooth or chunked to bits, as it will pick up the pawls, tighten the bolts ensuring they in the center of the pawls using thredlock as most times tightening them fully home pinches the pawls and stops them flying out.

also on the flywheel ensure that where the pawls come to rest is nice and sharp edges, so that when it returns to its place it dont try to ride up and over the flywheel.

other than that get some picks on here and gissa look what state its in.

all the best...
