Proposals...

Proposal 1 (by Si Legallez) - Proposal to run BZM420 in all classes inc Juniors. A general discussion ensued. No major cases for or against. No difference between them and a Polini 4.2 out of the box.

Proposal 2 (by Kev Williams) - Raising Race Fees. Circuit hire is dearer than it was, and for `09 we're using some more expensive circuits. Rowrah expected to put price up, Roger says this should be minimal and awaiting confirmation in writing. Si Ibbotson expects this to be a few hundred. This equates to £2 per rider. Marshalls cost, Medics cost. Proposal is £5 increase across the board on entries. Was mentioned that Ellough Park requires us to pay their marshalls - £320. Medics - cost of medics is going up. We need 1x medic, 1x technician, 1x ambulance / equipped car minimum.

New Race Entry Fees proposed as follows.
Juniors - £50 for 1st class, £25 for 2nd class, £15 for 3rd class
Adult - £60 for 1st class, £25 for 2nd class, £15 for 3rd class.

If you pay membership and race entry up front for the season before 1st meeting, you get 8th round free. MEMBERSHIP fees will remain fixed, for review next year.

Proposal 3 (by Kev Williams) - Arrange a regular team of within-club paid marshalls to standby when needed. Minimum age 16. General discussion ensued. Si Ibbotson mentioned the point that British Marshalls club would do it for free as long as they were fed. The current rate of £20 per marshall per day day would cover this. It was agreed that this should be investigated further. If no outcome then the membership would be notified and selection from paddock via whatever method would be used. Si Ibbotson will make contact with British Marshalls Club to investigate.

Proposal 4 (by Stefan Castille) - To unify PitBikes & FunBikes into one class. Roger Keys suggests 2x classes, modified & unmodified. Currently, C = 140 modified, B = 140, A = 125, Funbikes (stock) separate. Stefan feels funbikes are competitive against 140 modifieds. Allow Metrakit funs to be modified but with an 80cc limit. Discussion ensued.
Decision was to use 2x classes. Class 1: Upto 140cc 4t / 72cc 2t unmodified. Class 2: Upto 160cc 4t / 80cc 2t / anything with Japanese Cylinder. Any Moto-X engines must remain stock (ignition / CDI / exhaust / reed block / cams / pistons). A 2t engine may be fitted in a pitbike frame. Wheel size max 17" maximum. Modified: Exhaust must be available over the counter. No custom exhausts but may be chopped to fit.

Proposals from floor / AoB.

Wayne Ravenhall would like to propose an increase of 10% dimensions (on top of current max excluding +/- 5%) to sidecars. Entered as proposal 5.

Wayne Ravenhall would like to propose material for frame of aluminium to be allowed. Rob Winfield was brought in to offer advice on material. 608T grade was suggested as a minimum specification for aluminium. Tube dimension max to remain the same as current (2"). Entered as proposal 6.

Tamzine Hanks would like to propose protest fees to be reviewed to £50 protest fee plus a deposit as £50 won't cover cost of a rebuild on a 4T engine these days, and as it stands, protesting could be used to remove someone from the round. This should be reviewed at the end of this season and discussed within the committee.

Here endeth the minutes.
