Oh I reckon he is legally a midget alright! He's probably 5'4" or something like that.
I like the help you up one, I'll have to try that on him.
Just Multimapped this track, looks a fair way maybe 1.5hrs or more from Newport?
How long does it take you to get there from where you are? Anywhere in mid Wales is a bit of a pain and depends on the traffic.
James glad your still up beat.
Cheers Scotty

Tomtom says i`m, about 94 milkes from it and it takes us about 2 hrs. I still think its worth the traveling.

As for the little man post, i got a wicked picture to show all but cant put it up, i lost the software ro rip pics off my phone so unless i send it to someone elses phone and they show it, i cant!

I`ll definately be going to Kinsham, first or second week in feb, I`m going off in the sun to thailand and the phillipines for a few weeks, I`ll come pick you up darren in my new Bongo ive just brought, seems i can get about 4 bikes and 5 ppl in it. mmcwales/p_cool.gif I dont think you much out my way, maybe 10 miles each way mmcwales/p_braces.gif

Came across this on in a minimotoclub.co.uk post, which shows the Kingsham track (albeit pitbikes) looks really good.

2 hrs is about the same as Whilton which is a bit of a drag but worth it for a full day.

Saw the next Whilton day is Easter monday March 24th. May also go up for the next winter round on Feb 16th or a trip to try this track. James will you be fixed up by then? I can squeeze a few bikes in mine also, if people are stuck going to either.

I'll leave the Llandow thing to you guys. I don't think Paul is going to reply unless there is a meeting. The first round of the MMRA is there on the 5th/6th April so best chance is a practice before that. If it doesn't happen then numbers wise, it probably won't go again.
Have a good hols MrBoo. Cheers Scotty

alright fellas, yeh scotty fingers cross mate everything should be fine. Goin back to the hospis on 30th jan, re x-ray it, take the cast off. As for whilton mill weekend, glad to hear your riding the full weekend! Good experience for you.

Not sure what we doing over the whiltonrace weekend, me, dad, andrew andlittle mark stayed in a lodge over night, and was well worth the 25-30quid each, with all your household services lol, roughly 4-5mile from the track.

Also could travel up to Kingsham in february, within the 1st weeks of the month, could either meet up again, which worked great, although kingsham would be only 2hours for us.

see you soon

scotty4321- 01-14-2008
How many does the lodge sleep? I wouldn't stay/sleep in the van yet it would be freezing overnight.
May well stay the weekend, I'll get slaughtered but it would be practice!
Need to sort out some wets and possibly wheels. Ordered a couple of sprockets from PS-UK (£7 each) and thinking of getting some shoes relined as spares, does anyone use the guy on Ebay or is the place in Cardiff better. Haven't payed out for carbon/Kevlar yet, does it make that much difference?
Going to try a 70 rear sproket again at Whilton, reckon that overall lap would be a bit quicker even though it will be flat out before the end of the straight. I can't carry the corner speed and it isn't quite in the power coming out.
Would like to try Kingsham, so could meet up if there were a few going, whatever.
Hopefully your hand will be sorted.
Cheers Scotty

I use the guys at Cardiff for me relines, as does minimoto racing, DMR doing nice kevlar relines now also worth a shout... and yea they do make a diff, my super will eat 2shoe standards up, carbon kevlar 3shoes seem to hold... depends on weight, riding style bite point etc etc.

power out the bends try kicking u clutch up a flat or two up the rpm range, there not that many corners at whilton to give clutch a hard time, clutch ingaged most times.

8/69 last time out there, but it was damp.

speedy1- 01-15-2008
Yeh agree with darren, top quality service in cardiff for re-lining clutches. Yes scotty half way point to hving my cast off everything feeling good lol.

As for the lodge, yeh plenty of rooms on availible, was reat last time we went up for the weekend, pub 5 minute walk down the road.

Give few of you a ring start Feb, to get things organised

scotty4321- 01-16-2008
I'll have to try and find this place in Cardiff on a day off unless they are open Sat. I'm guessing you have to go back to collect.
Scotty in MMR set the clutch up as I burnt out the ones in there by going on with a 7 tooth front, 2 laps cost me £32. Numpty! live and learn the hard way.
He suggested to set a clutch up just nip the nuts until they are just touching the springs and tighten all nuts equal numbers of flats (same pitch on all bolts so same compression on the springs). in my case with medium springs 20 turns. Jazz checked the pick up at 8100rpm with a tacho. Apparently a BZM aircooled makes power a little lower than an aircooled 6.2 polini so I'm guessing should be OK, but not too sure. Easy enough to try a few more flats though.
Gearing wise I was on 7/68 last time and it was going pretty good down the straight, when Darren's was spluttering out of turn 2 I could get along side whilst he was shaking his head (funny!) but then his cleared and I couldn't keep up.
Nearly got my shed straight so can tinker again soon. Going to make a stand to work on the bike, fed up of kneeling at the track, bloody knee sliders keep coming off also so need another pair.
Lodge at Whilton sounds good if there are a few going.
Cheers Scotty

Scotty the place in cardiff do keep some in stock, but make sure the holes are not elogated if you do exchange them, but myself i would return and ask them to make sure you get yours back, unless yours are elongated wink.gif.

its right next to the Porsche and Ferrari Centre. CF11 8TW as you turn in centre on your right go straight up and bear off to the left Ferodo will be just infront of you on the right as you get to industrial units...

Sure they are open on Saturdays also mukka...

As for the clutch setup, if you have a dyno readout look at where your power kicks in and set the clutch to bite 1000-600rpm below that with a 2 shoe clutch, 600-300rpm below that with a 3 shoe. ONCE CLUTCH BEDDED IN TIDY.

Try doing £220 worth of clutches in 1 day, u learn fast lol

Yea got realy frustrating with a missfire right where you need the power gggrrr, i use a handy workbench, blackndecker or b&q will do it mukka, folds up after, does the job like...

Just got this beauty tho for the shed Well Sorted... smile.gif

Jazz_11- 01-18-2008
yhhh my dad just made a work bench, he used the normal black spur bench but drilled a larger piece of wood onto the 2 smaller pieces, he then cut out 2 large holes for the wheels so it can stand up... he also done it in such a way it folds up aswell......
will try and get some pics up later lol....

Jazz_11- 01-18-2008
heres the pics, the holes forthe wheel's are so that u can line up the front and back wheel, and also u can work on the back or front wheel, because u can make either wheel stand up in the air...
it does the job, and didnt take him long to make it lol...
u can also do the clutch, because taking the footpeg off wont be a problem, because it can stand on its own...
not % finished yet going to try and get it painted before sunday...

nice job mmcwales/p_clap.gif

scotty4321- 01-19-2008
Darren, thats a lot of money on clutches, you need to get something less powerful or ride it geared down a bit or something.
Jazz, thats a great idea but I am old and my back hurts stooping to a work mate (don't laugh)!
Need to make something taller maybe adjustable, may pinch some ideas off Darrens as that looks nice also and is tall, like the shelving too, you do not want to see in my shed.
I am real skint but am hopefully buying some parts cheap on the other site, including a few clutches and a set of PMT wheels with R's. Just missed out on a set of brand new Junior R's on wheels for £60, fuming!!
I have no idea on the dyno plot, can't find any info on the engine as it hasn't been out long. It is the 3t although they are going to allow the 5t (at least in the Southerns) in the open air cooled class. If I end up racing and sell the road bike may have to get it into Scott at MMR and see about getting the jetting and clutch sorted out. Any idea how much he charges, probably by the hour I guess?
Going to have a tinker now so may do Hully tommorrow, just not sure if I could go in with the 4.2s but for no points (not that I am going to get any).
Cheers Scotty
